Julie Ruvolo is Chief Strategy Officer at GPCA. In this role, she works with the CEO on new business development and is responsible for the planning and direction of the organization’s product strategy, including research, editorial and partnership design.

Julie also oversees the organization’s platform with venture and tech investors globally, including investor relationships and strategic partnerships, publishes the bi-weekly Global Tech Brief, and leads its Global Tech Council. She is a regular presenter and speaker at meetings on tech investment in global markets, including Milken Asia and Kauffman Fellows, and is widely cited in the financial press.

Julie serves as a Senior Advisor to LAVCA, where she was Director of Venture Capital from 2016-2020. She launched and published the LatAm Venture Bulletin, the leading source of VC/tech news in the region, organized LAVCA’s relationships with tech corporates, and hosted dozens of investor meetings and educational programs convening Latin American and global tech investors.

Prior to joining LAVCA, Julie covered tech and innovation in Brazil as a journalist for publications including TechCrunch, Bloomberg CityLab (formerly owned by The Atlantic), VICE News and BuzzFeed News.

She received her B.A. in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University in 2004 with honors distinction for research conducted in Rio de Janeiro.
