Erica Berthou
Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP

Erica Berthou is a corporate partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, and a member of the firm’s Private Equity Funds and Investment Management Groups. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of open- and closed-ended private investment funds, co-investment funds and separately managed accounts. In addition to US- and European-focused funds, Ms. Berthou has significant experience of emerging markets fund formation, covering all major emerging markets, and establishment of offices and other firm infrastructure in such markets. Ms. Berthou has also advised both sponsors and institutional buyers in connection with strategic investments in private investment firms, and has advised on structuring aspects in preparation of liquidity events for a firm’s owners. Ms. Berthou frequently also advises on strategic joint venture arrangements in the fund formation space.

 

Peter A. Furci
Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP

Peter Furci is a tax partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, and a member of the firm’s Private Equity and Latin America Groups. He concentrates on the tax aspects of a wide range of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings and debt and equity securities offerings by US and non-US issuers. He also practices extensively in the area of private investment funds, including emerging markets, hedge, mezzanine, distressed debt, infrastructure and real estate funds.

Andrew Ostrognai, resident in Debevoise & Plimpton’s Hong Kong office, is a corporate partner and chair of the firm’s private equity practice in Asia. He is also a member of the firm’s Private Equity Group focusing on private equity fund formation and downstream investment in the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Ostrognai has extensive experience in forming all types of funds, from large pan-Asian buy-out funds to smaller focused sector or country-specific funds, as well as separate account programs and foreign-sponsored, RMB-denominated private equity funds. Mr. Ostrognai also has strong experience in various types of secondary transactions. He serves as a member of the Advisory Council of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association.
