Robert van Zwieten
CEO and President, EMPEA

Robert provides overall strategic leadership of EMPEA and oversees the continuous expansion of value to existing and prospective members and the organization’s work to develop the asset class globally.

Prior to EMPEA, Robert was the Asian Development Bank’s Director of Private Sector Capital Markets, based in Manila, Philippines, responsible for origination and structuring of US$2.5 billion in transactions and investments across 40 Asian emerging and frontier markets. Robert oversaw ADB’s US$1 billion in private equity investments deployed in 47 funds. Mark Kenderdine-Davies
General Counsel and Company Secretary, CDC Group plc
Board of Directors and Legal & Regulatory Council, EMPEA

Mark, a British national, is General Counsel and Company Secretary of CDC Group plc (CDC) with oversight of the company’s legal and regulatory affairs. CDC, wholly owned by the UK Government and the world’s oldest development finance institution, has been investing in businesses in developing countries since 1948. It has committed approximately US$5.8 billion to private equity funds and co-investments in Africa, Asia, Central America, Central Asia and Latin America since 2004. André Roux
Chief Executive Officer, Ethos Private Equity

André is the Founding Partner of Ethos Private Equity, having established the business in 1984. He is widely regarded as the pioneer of South African private equity and held the post of Chief Executive since Ethos’ inception. He has lectured extensively on the private equity industry to business schools and is a regular speaker at industry conferences. Senior Director, Membership and Industry Partners, EMPEA 

Kyoko Terada is the Senior Director of Membership and Industry Partners, responsible for all aspects of member relationship management. Kyoko leads EMPEA’s work in identifying ways for members to maximize their membership experience, and manages outreach and engagement strategies with and among EMPEA’s diverse network.
