Speakers include

Camilla Axvi, Head of Private Equity, External Managers, AP2, Andra AP-fonden

Camilla Axvi is Head of Private Equity at the Second Swedish National Pension Fund (AP2). She is responsible for creating and developing the portfolio strategy for a global private equity portfolio diversified by style and geography with a value of 1,8 billion USD. The position includes portfolio construction, selection and evaluation of investments. She joined AP2 when fund was established in 2001 from Volvo Treasury, the inhouse bank of the Volvo Group, where she had been since 1996.

 

 

Mark Florman, CEO, Time Partners

Mark was previously the founder of the merchant banking group Maizels Westerberg and has since founded a number of businesses in the technology, advisory, financial services and investment sectors. He was Managing Director of the private equity firm Doughty Hanson, Chair of LM Glasfiber (the global renewable energy group) and started the African venture capital firm 8 Miles LLP with Bob Geldof.

He co-founded the Centre for Social Justice, the Early Intervention Foundation and B Labs (UK). In March 2015, he was appointed to the Board of the BBC Trust, and was the Trustee for England for two years. Mark was a member of the G8 Social Impact Investment Task Force in 2014, and was appointed to the Triennial Review of the Big Lottery Fund by the UK Cabinet Office in the same year. He is the author of the External Rate of Return with the London School of Economics.

 

 Janusz Heath, Managing Director and Head of Investment Management, Emerging Markets, Capital Dynamics

Janusz is a Managing Director, Head of Investment Management Emerging Markets, a member of the Board of Directors of CD Holdings, Compliance & Conflicts Committee and the Private Equity Investment Committee. He has over 30 years of private equity, corporate finance, and industry experience. Prior to joining Capital Dynamics, Janusz was head of Central and Eastern European private equity at Allianz Specialized Investments (formerly Dresdner Kleinwort Capital), having previously been deputy chairman and managing director of PTP-Kleinwort Benson. He has also been chief executive of a UK public company; a member of the Wilton Park Advisory Council (a Foreign and Commonwealth Office agency); a non-executive director and trustee of HCT (a UK social enterprise) and Computer Aid International (a UK-based charity). He holds an MBA from the University of Aston and is a past Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

 

Rae Winborn, Manager of Research, EMPEA

Rae Winborn is a Manager at EMPEA, where she covers China. Prior to working at EMPEA, Rae participated in a 6-month social entrepreneurship fellowship based in Hyderabad, India, where she worked for a school analytics and improvement company, as well as the nonprofit organization, Ashoka: Innovators for the Public. It was during this time that she developed an interest in social change through financial markets. As an undergraduate, Rae studied abroad at London School of Economics and Beijing Normal University. She has had volunteer experience in China, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. She graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa from Dartmouth College in 2014 with a B.A. in Government and with High Honors in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.

 

 

Jeff Schlapinski, Director of Research, EMPEA

Jeff Schlapinski is the Director of Research at EMPEA, where he leads a team producing industry data, analysis and in-depth reporting on private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real assets investing in emerging economies. In addition to providing quarterly market intelligence to EMPEA’s members, Jeff manages EMPEA’s annual Global Limited Partners Survey and is a regular author of EMPEA special reports and research briefs. He also interacts frequently with the media, fund managers, institutional investors and industry advisors in order to fulfill EMPEA’s broader mission of informing the investment community on the private capital opportunity set in emerging markets. Jeff graduated from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) at Georgetown University with a B.S. in International Economics.
