American Capital Energy & Infrastructure (ACEI), an investor in global energy infrastructure assets, has committed to invest an estimated EUR76 million (approximately US$84 million) in a wind power project in Senegal. The total cost of the project is estimated to be EUR305 million (approximately US$339 million), with undisclosed senior debt and mezzanine lenders providing the EUR229 million (approximately US$254 million) remainder. Power from the project will be sold to Senelec, Senegal’s national utility company, under a 20-year power purchase agreement signed in December 2013. The project is being developed by France-based renewable energy developer Sarreole. Construction on the plant is scheduled over three years.
