Tar Heel Capital Acquires an 80 Percent Stake in Transsystem for PLN26 Million (CEE and CIS)

Private equity firm Tar Heel Capital has acquired an 80 percent stake in Poland-based transportation systems producer Transsystem, a company declared bankrupt in August 2012, from the court-appointed receiver, along with the rights to the company’s brand. The transaction, which was structured through Tar Heel Capital II, was valued at PLN26 million (approximately US$8.6 million). Tar Heel intends to rebuild the company’s market position.
