Tata Capital Exits Varroc Engineering in US$282 Million IPO, Sells Sai Life Sciences Stake to TPG for US$100 Million (Asia)

India-based automobile parts manufacturer Varroc Engineering has raised INR19 billion (approximately US$282 million) through its initial public offering on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India, facilitating an exit for India-focused growth equity fund manager Tata Capital. The offering included a total of 20 million shares sold at a price of INR967 (approximately US$14) per share. Tata Capital sold 18 million shares for a total of INR18 billion (approximately US$238 million). Separately, Tata Capital has reportedly agreed to sell its 35 percent stake in India-based Sai Life Sciences to global private investment firm TPG for approximately US$100 million. TPG’s investment will also include a primary infusion of capital.
