The Carlyle Group Exits Tirumala Milk Products (Asia)

French dairy firm Groupe Lactalis has acquired a 100 percent stake in India-based dairy company Tirumala Milk Products for a reported US$250 million to US$300 million, allowing global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group to exit its 26.4 percent stake in the company. The Carlyle Group originally invested US$22 million in Tirumala in 2010. The company sells a range of dairy products, including milk, milk powder, butter and ice cream, and plans to expand its presence in India.
