MENA-focused venture capital fund manager Wamda Capital has led a Series A financing round totaling USD7.5 million for UAE-based eyewear e-commerce retailer eyewa. Other participants in the round include GS Shop, Equitrust, 500 Startups, and Faith Capital. eyewa, which sells contact lenses, sunglasses, and prescription glasses in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, plans to use the funds to grow its team in Saudi Arabia and to expand operations across the Middle East.
