Warburg Pincus Invests in China-Based Health Center Amcare (Asia)

Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus has completed an investment in China-based health care provider Amcare Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Amcare, which previously received an RMB250 million (approximately US$40 million) investment in 2011 from investment banking and research service company China International Capital Corp., currently operates three hospitals and one postpartum care center. Amcare intends to use the new financing to construct additional facilities and expand its domestic network. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
