Regulatory Update (AIFM Directive)
After eighteen months of debate, the European Parliament approved the text of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) on 11 November 2010. The consensus view is that the regulations are not as damaging as they could have been but that compliance will pose a burden for many in the industry, and a significant burden for some.
