In October 2018, Value4Capital (V4C) acquired Kom-Eko, an integrated waste management company based in Poland.
V4C worked closely with Kom-Eko to expand its waste processing capacity while simultaneously increasing the percentage of recycled material in its waste stream. The company successfully reduced the total amount of waste ending up in a landfill — in 2019, 176,000 tonnes of solid waste was collected and 81% was recovered, up from 70,530 tonnes and 66% in 2011.
As part of its initiatives to promote environmental education in waste generation and management, Kom-Eko also launched ekoAPP, a mobile application that teaches users how to properly sort waste to increase recycling.
