Andrés Ackermann

Andrés is the Director of Investment Funds at IDB Invest. He has extensive knowledge and over two decades of international experience in the financial industry. Since joining the IDB Group in 2009, Andrés has focused on advancing financial markets and institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. With his current responsibilities, he oversees the investment fund business at IDB Invest, including private equity and credit funds. He serves on several advisory boards for funds based in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Prior to his tenure at IDB Group, Andrés held key positions at Citibank Bolivia, including Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Manager, Corporate Bank Manager, and Head of Analysis, Planning, and Strategy. His track record also includes leadership roles at Banco de Credito de Bolivia BCP, where he served as Head of Middle Market Banking and Head of Financial Planning. He was also member of BCP’s Management Committee, Investment Committee, Asset and Liability Management Committee, and Credit Committee.

Andrés earned a master’s degree in finance from Boston College and a master’s degree in economics from Florida International University (USA). He is a CFA charterholder.
