Part of EM PE Week in Washington, DC, this Masterclass offered attendees the rare opportunity to hear directly from the industry's leading LPs and other industry experts on actionable fundraising advice and common pitfalls.

EMPEA Fundraising Masterclass: London
Presented with support from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and MVision Private Equity Advisers and graciously hosted at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headquarters, the annual EMPEA Fundraising Masterclass in London provides fund managers with tools and best practices for raising funds for private equity investment in emerging economies. Held on 17 October 2013, the last Masterclass in London drew both first-time and experienced fund managers who engaged with an expert faculty of practitioners discussing current hot topics in fundraising, including how to navigate the longer fundraising cycle, manage complex investor diligence requirements, and avoid common pitfalls when pitching potential LPs.

EMPEA Fundraising Masterclass: Mumbai
In June 2013, the EMPEA Fundraising Masterclass went on the road to present the first EMPEA Fundraising Masterclass in Mumbai. Presented with AZB & Partners, BerchWood Partners and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, the Masterclass travelled to India to arm local fund managers with proven fundraising tools and best practices. This Masterclass also featured our inaugural “Perfect Pitch” session which allowed fund manager attendees to present and receive feedback on their two minute “elevator pitch” from our panel of expert judges.
