Undergraduate Intern, Program and Events 

 

Position Description

EMPEA is seeking an Undergraduate Intern in its Programs & Events Department to support its efforts in program content development, member and sponsor communications, and business development. EMPEA’s suite of conferences, in-person training and education events and online professional development programs are focused on providing our members and global industry stakeholders the intelligence and relationships needed to navigate the fast growing economies of emerging markets.

The Undergraduate Intern’s primary responsibilities will be to assist the programs and events team with researching and developing compelling content for our events, including current emerging markets private equity and global economic themes, relevant keynote speakers and other content providers. The Undergraduate Intern will also serve as an important point-of-contact for our member private equity firms, international investors and other supporters. This internship provides hands-on opportunities to learn about the asset class and connect with major industry players. Job responsibilities may also include supporting programs and events logistics and reporting, responding to general inquiries, assisting with speaker and sponsor coordination efforts, and various organizational tasks related to the production of conferences and other events as necessary.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate is an undergraduate student with an interest in emerging markets, economic trends and global private sector development. Professional demeanor, excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multi-task are required. Prior economic research experience, use of Salesforce and Excel proficiency are preferred.

Commitment

This is an unpaid internship. The intern will work 15-20 hours per week, and start date and term of internship are flexible. Targeted start date is August 19, 2013.
